Good Faith Estimate

Transparency is part of affirming care. Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to know what therapy will cost before we begin — no surprises, no fine print. Here’s what that means for you.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your mental health care. Health care providers are required to give clients who don’t have insurance, or who choose not to use insurance, a written estimate of expected costs before services begin — and you can request one at any time.

Because therapy is ongoing and collaborative, your total cost depends on how long we work together. Your estimate is based on my current fees — $200 per 50-minute individual session and $250 per 60-minute couples session — and the anticipated frequency of our sessions, which we’ll review and adjust together. You’ll receive your written Good Faith Estimate before our first session. If you ever receive a bill at least $400 more than your estimate, you have the right to dispute it, so keep a copy for your records.
